$108,000 Spin & Go on PokerStars (again!)
I'm dipping my toes into real money pokerstars hud reddit play at pokerstars.
I'm aware of hud software but not using any.
How prevalent is their usage?
Am I at a big disadvantage by not using?
A HUD is like a guy who gives you details from the pokerstars hud reddit of a new acquaintance when she does something apparently weird, so that you know if she's crazy or it's just a misread.
If you don't like surprises, a HUD is a good helper.
How may tables are you going to play?
If it is less than 2 or 3 I don't think the absence of a HUD will harm you greatly, you are unlikely to meaningful samples on your opponents anyway.
However, I would still recommend a tracking program, even if you disable the HUD because it makes session review and improving your best performing casino stocks play significantly easier.
Thanks all, I'm now running PokerTracker, playing.
Just pokerstars hud reddit with as few stats as possible.
I'd go with Number of Hands, VPIP, PFR and 3bet fold to 3 bet.
Cbet and fold to Cbet for the three streets.
Hands as mentioned is very important, the more hands you have the more accurate the stats become.
I lost a fair share of money pretty quickly because as learn more here players took empty seats I wasn't quick enough in realizing that they had fundamentally different habits until I checked the other tables they were playing.
Not a big disadvantage at all.
If you're paying attention to your opponents then that's all that matters really.
A HUD makes it easier to spot tendancies and play styles of your opponents though.
No matter how much attention you pay, when playing within a large player pool it's almost impossible to spot all the postflop tendencies.
And here is the catch: the further in the hand you go, the smaller the sample size and the bigger the pot.
So, the most important the decision, the less data you have.
Here is an example: on of the most reliable numbers is the postflop agg%.
Suppose you are on the river and your opponent makes a bet and he's not the type to bet thinly, so he is sort of polarized between bluff and pure value.
You don't know what he's doing.
If it's 20%, instafold.
If it's 30%, snapcall.
This is maybe one of the most reliable parameter to keep in a HUD.
In time, you end up making big money with it.
Without it, I repeat: you cannot keep in mind those rare instances when the villain is on the river and bets.
How many hands do you need before you are comfortable in the validity of the numbers your HUD is showing you for these River stats?
A lot of people overvalue what their HUD is telling them with very small samples.
Yep, the sample size is a highly ignored leak of poker databases, especially for rare instances.
I personally ignore the agg% on the river stat if it's inferred from less that - say - 30 to 50 hands as the lowest threshold.
This means several thousand hands with the villain.
If you both play volumes at the same stake, you can get this amount in a matter of days.
But you're right: I prefer playing without a HUD than to become a HUD dependent nerd - AND lose money in the process.
Is it possible to make money without using a HUD?
Can you make more money using a HUD?
So it's like read more that improves performance.
This is pretty stupid for pokerstars hud reddit few reasons.
You need to study the game to know what to do with the info.
Read a poker book, play 2NL.
Jivaro at least ok obviously it is implied that you have to study.
If so I guess I'm surprised at the amount, I thought generally folks should be starting at micro stakes?
I mean, I'm not the person who claimed that if you can't beat 2nl after a month you should give up poker, I was just explaining what 2nl means.
